چکیده

Background T1 mapping is a powerful technique for ECV quantification; native T1 has been shown to increase in a variety of conditions including oedema, fibrosis and amyloid. Iron and fat lower T1. Anderson Fabry disease (AFD) is a fat storage disease, cardiac iron occurs in transfusion dependent patients. We hypothesised that T1 lowering would diagnose early cardiac involvement, track disease severity and discriminate from other mimic pathologies.

Native T1 reference values for nonischemic cardiomyopathies and populations with increased cardiovascular risk: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

BACKGROUND Although cardiac MR and T1 mapping are increasingly used to diagnose diffuse fibrosis based cardiac diseases, studies reporting T1 values in healthy and diseased myocardium, particular in nonischemic cardiomyopathies (NICM) and populations with increased cardiovascular risk, seem contradictory. PURPOSE To determine the range of native myocardial T1 value ranges in patients with NIC...

Reproducibility of native myocardial T1 mapping in the assessment of Fabry disease and its role in early detection of cardiac involvement by cardiovascular magnetic resonance

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) derived native myocardial T1 is decreased in patients with Fabry disease even before left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) occurs and may be the first non-invasive measure of myocyte sphingolipid storage. The relationship of native T1 lowering prior to hypertrophy and other candidate early phenotype markers are unknown. Furthermore, the reproducib...

Coexistant of Fabry Disease and IgA Glomerulonephritis in a 39 year old male

Anderson-Fabry disease is a rare inherited X-linked lysosomal storage disease caused by deficiency of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A. Hereby we report a 39 year old male that presented with proteinuria and edema. Histopathologic, immunofluorescence and ultrastractural examination of renal tissue were in favor  of  Fabry disease in associate with IgA nephropathy. Fabry's disease associated ...

Fabry dissase from the dentist view

Fabry disease is a rare, inherited disease with lack of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A (α-Gal)  in the cells of the body that participates in the breakdown of fat. The disease begins in early childhood, progresses slowly throughout life and results in severe damage of the kidneys, heart and central nervous system. The disease is life-threatening and if left untreated, death ...

Native T1 mapping versus CMR Feature Tracking (FT) derived strain analysis for the assessment of cardiac disease manifestation in Anderson Fabry

Background Cardiovascular sequelae represent a leading cause of mortality in Fabry disease. Early detection of cardiac involvement is therefore a subject of considerable interest. Low native T1 values have been shown to be associated with echocardiographic markers of early systolic and diastolic dysfunction, even in those without left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), and conceptually could be use...
